Position Description

We are seeking an ambitious and committed Podcast Production intern with an entrepreneurial spirit. The intern will use classroom based knowledge and experience to develop episodes of our podcast and content that informs and engages our target audience. You will increase listeners and subscribers, enhance brand awareness, and achieve other marketing and sales goals through this internship experience. The intern will assist in a range of marketing initiatives, manage multiple social media platforms, and execute promotional campaigns tasks., etc.

What You’ll be Doing In this Role:

  • Brainstorming and creating exciting and entertaining segments, topics, and interview questions for the show
  • Writing and recording podcast intros and outros
  • Uploading and scheduling podcast episodes into the hosting site
  • Creating digital assets such as teaser clips, and other content for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube
  • Refreshing and optimizing website pages with the latest episodes
  • Creating copy for email and social media to share our latest episodes with the community
  • Transcribing interviews to be used in blog posts
  • Some administrative duties as needed like drafting and responding to emails from potential and past guests

Who we’re looking for:

  • Journalism, Communications, English, and Marketing majors 
  • You attend an HBCU (not mandatory, but a plus)
  • A strong understanding of HBCU culture
  • Excellent listening, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capability
  • Ability to adapt and be agile as needed in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Attention to detail

  • This is a virtual internship for college credit. By the end of the internship you will have a huge portfolio of produced and edited podcasts
