MEET THE FOUNDER:
Hello! I am Cheylaina Fultz, the Founder and CEO of HBCU Legacy Fashion. Prior to starting this business, I was a wedding and event planner. I planned local and destination weddings all over the U.S. and Caribbean. During the lockdown of 2020, my weddings had been canceled. I was pregnant and stuck at home with my husband, our 3 year old and 1 1/2 year old at the time.
I remembered the vision I had the previous year to start a movement to create awareness surrounding historically black colleges and universities. But I would do it through fashion forward clothing that did not currently exist in the HBCU market.
The goal was to create high quality HBCU Kids Fashion that could be passed down through generations. Eventually, this evolved into a family brand as parents wanted jackets to match their little legacy.
I am a third generation HBCU alumna (Aggie Pride!!), and as a lover of all things fashion and HBCUs, I help those with HBCU pride display the spirit of their school through fashion by reducing the time spent customizing their outfits, and increasing an opportunity to make a fashion statement.
Welcome to the family!
